Patriots WR Gordon inactive vs. Lions

Josh Gordon will not make his New England Patriots debut on Sunday night against the Detroit Lions, as he was ruled one of New England’s seven inactive players.Gordon missed last Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury before the Cleveland Browns dealt him to the Patriots for a fifth-round pick, and he was limited in practice this week before being listed as questionable.Tom Brady hinted earlier this week that Gordon’s role would be small if he did play.”It’s up to the coaches to decide those things,” Brady said. “You could limit the number of plays and try to do that, and I think we’ve done that plenty of times. That’s any time you get new players, that’s what you try to do.”Also inactive for the Patriots are three defensive starters: defensive end Trey Flowers (concussion), safety Patrick Chung (concussion) and cornerback Eric Rowe (groin).
