Johnny Field had the first multi-homer game of his career, Jorge Polanco supplied a three-run triple and the Minnesota Twins handed Paul Molitor his 300th managerial win by pounding the Detroit Tigers 11-4 on Wednesday in Minneapolis.Field homered in his first two at-bats and drove in three runs. Tyler Austin hit a two-run homer, and Chris Gimenez also knocked in two runs. Robbie Grossman added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.Christin Stewart led Detroit’s offense with a run scored and two RBIs.Detroit starter Matthew Boyd (9-13) gave up six runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings. Minnesota starter Jake Odorizzi allowed four runs on six hits and five walks in three-plus innings. Tyler Duffey (2-2) tossed two innings of scoreless relief to get credit for the victory.The Tigers (64-94) grabbed the lead in the first inning on a Jeimer Candelario walk and Stewart’s triple to center field. Stewart was thrown out at the plate on the play.Minnesota (73-84) struck back with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Polanco drew a one-out walk, stole second and scored on Grossman’s RBI single. Austin then followed with his two-run shot to left.Field’s leadoff homer in the second made it 4-1.
