12.7.09:  Tim Tebow has won a Heisman, won a National Championship, and has guaranteed himself millions of dollars in the NFL.  What is there to cry over?  I understand the emotional loss, I understand that you might want to cry, but what I don't understand, is why is your teammate stroking your hair like your mother would do when you were 2?  Little weird, I'm just saying.

11.12.09:  Congratulations to The Captain for being inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.  You turned the Dead Wings into Hockeytown.  Thank you.

11.12.09:  Hi again.  Its been awhile, I love table tennis. Check this out.

10.14.09:  They do party hard at Michigan State!  Check this guy out, tailgating before the MSU/Michigan Game.  Keep in mind its 8:00am.

Check out the story...hilarious!

10.07.09:  Tigers Dead.  They had it in their grasp.  They needed 3 outs.  Unfortunately the baseball god's didn't want the Tigers to win.  The fact remains that the Tigers shouldn't have even been in that situation to begin with.  They should've clinched the Division a series or two prior.  It's easy to point fingers, and I'm pointing mine at Jim Leyland.  Why did you take Porcello out?  Zack Miner? Ordonez out of the lineup late?  I don't get some of the decisions he made.  I know ultimately he's not batting, throwing, or running, but it is his job to put the team in the best position to win, and I don't think he did that.  The evidence of that was Saturday night when he decided to start Alfredo Figaro.  Stop protecting and play.  They're big boys they can handle pitching on short rest once in awhile, especially in a must-win game.

This is just insult to injury.  I think MLB.com screwed up for second...

10.05.09:  Do or Die!  The Tigers have blown their lead in the AL Central and are now forced to win a one-game playoff against the Minnesota Twins at the Metrodome.  Good luck!  Now, I'm a huge Tigers fan, however I have to take my bias out of my opinion, because I don't think the outlook is great for the Tigers.  They are going to into a place where the notoriously struggle, with their ace going, and we have a 20-year old rookie on the mound.  Now, I love Porcello and I think he's got the stones to pitch in this situation, but I felt Leyland shouldn't have him in this situation.  I felt he should have pitched on Saturday night regardless of the short rest.  I'm sick of this crap about, "I'm trying to protect my pitchers."  Well, nobody was asking him to go out and pitch 110 pitches.  Also, you needed a WIN. Who gives you the best chance, Porcello or Figaro?  No brainer.  I felt that was a bad decision.  Leyland better hope they win the division or the fans my get restless, because I feel to lose the division after being in first for 5 months is unacceptable.  Where did the swagger go?

Rumeal Robison is a Michigan Basketball Icon.  Also not very loyal, check this out.  Not cool at all!

10.02.09:  Anybody who questions that when a runner is on second and he tips pitches to his teammate who is batting, check this video out.  Is it cheating?  To me, no.  Its part of baseball, its smart.  It gets into the the other teams head and makes them try and change what their doing.

10.01.09:  What a win.  The Tigers tried to take themselves out of the game early in the first inning last night, but got help from the double play.  For the first time, I saw urgency.  It was nice to see the bats get going again, and hopefully they are just getting hot and can clinch the division this afternoon and then get ready to take on the New York Yankees.  Magic Number 2!

9.30.09:  Magic Number: 4  I was in Detroit on Monday night to find the Tigers getting rained out to play a double header yesterday.  I was there for Game 1 and what  a heartbreaker.  The Tigers did what they've done all year, and that is leave too many runners on base.  I did not see a team playing with urgency and I felt Jim Leyland made some poor decisions in the 10th.  For example, I stated to my friend after the second pass ball which allowed Gomez to get third, the count was 3-1 on Castilla.  I said give Casilla his final ball intentionally, and intentionally walk Mauer who was on deck to load the bases with nobody out and puts a force anywhere and could possibly limit the damage.  I know hind sight is always 20-20, but Castilla singled on the next pitch, scored the run, and then they walked the bases loaded, got another one.  I think they could've have gotten out of that inning with only 1 run.

In Game 2, Verlander comes through like he has done all year.  When you need a win, go with your horse.  JV finally showed urgency for this team and they responded with runs,  its players and performances like that that should fuel the urgency in this team.  I want more aggression.  After being in first place since May 10, in a weak division, and missing the playoffs at this point in the season in UNACCEPTABLE.

Sidebar:  I saw Jim Leyland at Greektown Casino on Monday night after the game was postponed.  I shook his hand and told him to take it to 'em.  I hope that wasn't the jinx..haha.

9.24.09:  Matt Millen was fired one year ago today!  We all know how the franchise has been since, and its going to take some time to get rid of the crap he brought in.  Check my Matt Millen Remix Tribute.

Also, check out this from the Onions Sports Network (p.s. not a real report):

9.21.09:  Lions and Tigers, Oh My!

The Tigers had one job this weekend, and that was to not get swept by the Minnesota Twins.  Sunday afternoon, the Tigers sent Nate Robertson to the mound in a must win situation in most eyes.  Robertson showed up and got the Tigers a much needed win.  Even though they lost 2 of 3, they only lost 1 game in the standings.  I am a Jim Leyland supporter, however, I disagreed with the move of putting Don Kelly in left field on Saturday's game.  I mentioned that to my grandfather even before he made the error.  I realize he wants to get these kids in there, but the Meterodome is hard enough to play in and we need experience everywhere on defense in crucial situations.  Magic number is now 11.  I still feel its going to come down to that 4 game series Sept 28-Oct 1.

Now, to the Lions.  To steal a line from Denny Green, "they are who we thought they were."  The losing streak is now 19 straight and I don't see that trend ending in the near future.  I see their next 4 games as losses in the standings and will most likely start the year 0-6.  They can't do it again, can they?  Stafford right now looks like a $47 million guaranteed waste of money.  I know that's premature to make that statement, so I'll still give him the rookie benefit of the doubt for now.

9.18.09: Here are my picks for this weekends games:

TSL National Game Selection: Cal-31 Minnesota-24

Michigan over Eastern Michigan: 37-20

Michigan State over Notre Dame: 28-27(I'm going with MSU's success in South Bend on this one.)

Vikings over Lions: 28-23

Also, huge weekend for the Tigers.  They have a 4 game lead in the division with a 3 game series in Minnesota.  The Tigers HAVE to win this series.  They can't afford to have the Twins cut more into the lead because in 2 weeks they play again and you know what happens when you let the Twins hang around.

I thought these were cool:  Baseball is still being played remember!

9.17.09: Ernie Harwell delivers once again.  His words were short and sweet, yet had a profound impact on every fan in the stadium, as well as all those watching or listening across the state.  When he walked out on to that field, I had goosebumps.  Then, the 91 year old broadcaster stood behind the mic looking better than ever and thanked everyone as the stadium quieted and listened to what he had to say.  It was a truly epic Ernie moment and one I won't forget.  Thanks again Ernie!

Check this out.  I was at the Michigan/Notre Dame game on Saturday and it seems as though a punched was overlooked...or should I say, never even seen(at least by an official).

9.16.09: Ernie Harwell will be making an appearance at tonight's Tigers/Royals game.  If you get the opportunity to get out there and listen to what he has to say, I would jump on that.  Not to sound morbid, but this could be one of the last times we get a chance to hear his voice in public.  He's taking this time to say thank you to fans for support, but we should be taking this time to be saying thanks to him for all he has done for baseball.

Check out tonight's itinerary.

9.11.09: We will NEVER forget!  Thank you to all who help protect this great country!

9.10.09:  A letter to Ernie Harwell.

Dear Ernie,

You have touched so many lives in your career.  I'm only 26 years old and remember listening to you while I fell asleep.  The moment I heard that famous, "looooooooooong gone!" I was hooked.  Your hall of fame speech: "That's Baseball," is something every sports fan should hear, and its impossible to hear it and not get goosebumps.  I had the privelege of meeting you once when you came to Grand Rapids and I must say it was truly an honor.  There isn't a much nicer person I have ever met.  The news of your cancer has caught all Tiger fans by suprise.  There is no doubt that you will fight and continue to touch lives.  My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.  I hope you can come back to the booth one last time and give everyone one last memory to add to the list you have already given us.  I speak for everyone when I say THANK YOU!

God Bless.

9.3.09: Tigers get another BIG win.  Are you starting to believe yet?  Is this a playoff team?  I hope so, but I'm not ready to pencil them in quite yet.  The final 2 weeks of the season will decided this division.  The Tigers have 7 against Minnesota and 6 against Chicago.

US Open tennis:  This ball boy takes a face plant.

In honor of the face plant, another classic Seinfeld quote:

9.2.09:  I've been out a few days, but I'm back at it.  Congratulations to my brother and his new wife on their marriage.  So, apparantly there is a show called "Sports Babes."  I came across this and this is my kind of girl.
